baptism

It’s not about being perfect.

It’s about trusting Jesus and wanting to follow Him.

baptism

what, why and who

We get it – Baptism can feel like a big step. Let’s break it down.

Baptism is a picture of the Gospel, the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Baptism is an outward picture of an inward faith. Baptism is a public profession of my personal faith in Jesus.

We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

Romans 6:4 ESV

  • It is God’s plan for every Christian.
  • It identifies me as a follower of Jesus.
  • It is a vital act of obedience to God.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them inthe name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

Matthew 28:19-20 ESV

Baptism is for everyone who has placed their faith in Jesus.

You don’t need to have all the answers.

You just need to know that Jesus is your Savior — and you want the world to know.

We offer baptism for adults, students, and children who are ready. (For kids, we’ll guide families through a simple conversation first.)

FAQ:

real questions people ask

You’re not the only one with questions about baptism. Let’s talk through a few of the most common ones — no pressure, just clarity.

Nope. Baptism isn’t for people who have it all together — it’s for people who trust Jesus and want to follow Him. You don’t need to understand every verse or have a perfect track record. If you’ve said yes to Jesus and are ready to publicly show that, you’re ready. We’ll walk with you the rest of the way.

No — baptism doesn’t save you — Jesus does. Salvation comes through grace by faith in Jesus, not by anything we do. Baptism is a public response to that salvation. It’s a way to say, “Jesus has changed my life, and I want others to know, because He can change their life too!” It’s deeply meaningful, but it’s not what makes you saved.

That’s completely normal! Most people feel a mix of excitement and nerves. But you won’t be alone — we’ll walk you through everything ahead of time, support you on the day of, and cheer you on every step of the way. And the moment you come up out of that water? Pure joy.

Yes. Infant baptism often reflects your family’s desire to raise you in faith. However, the biblical teaching of baptism requires that it be your personal decision, not someone’s decision for you. Scriptural baptism must follow your decision to trust Jesus as their Savior.

Yes — if they have decided to personally trust Jesus and understand what baptism means. For kids and teens we have a conversation to help them (and their parents) discern if they’re ready. We never pressure or rush this step — we walk with your family and support your child in taking it when the time is right.

Reach out to Pastor Bryan to find a time to have this conversation.

We’ve got you covered — literally. We’ll give you a baptism shirt and provide towels. Just bring a change of clothes and any personal items you’ll want after (like hair stuff or dry shoes). We’ll explain all the details when you sign up.

one step of faith can change everything

Baptism is a moment you’ll never forget — not because of the water, but because of the why. And we can’t wait to celebrate it with you. Take the Next Step.
